Renee and Nic's fairytale French wedding

Date: 14/ 9/ 2013     Venue:  Chateau St Julien     Theme: Lilac, Cream and Purple Country Garden flowers

I first met Nic and Renee on a cold Autumn day in 2012 , we sat huddled in front of the wood burner in the Chateau Cottage and discussed the country styled summery flowers that Renee desired for her September wedding. The wedding theme was to be an informal and relaxed style of flowers in shades of Lilac, Cream and Purple .

The Bridal and Bridesmaids Bouquets contained a natural collection of  Delphiniums, Lavender, Bridal Gladioli, Wax Flower, Lissianthus, Roses and Veronica and Renee's bouquet had a extra sentimental touch ...a picture of her Late Father. The flower girls carried baskets of petals and wore pretty little floral crowns.

The romantic wedding ceremony was held in the "salon des miroirs" . Pomanders of mixed flowers lined the Aisle and two Vases of natural flowers sat on elegant pedestals at the front of the aisle. The guests then moved over to the Banquet Hall for their wedding Dinner. The room had a very romantic feel with organza drapes and beautiful lighting. The floral displays were simple jars filled with seasonal flowers dotted down the centre of the tables nestled among a collection of Tea lights.

Thank you Renee and Nic for allowing me to be part of your special day

Amy and Richards Chateau Wedding

Date: 31/5/2013    Venue : Chateau La Durantie   Photography : David Page Photography

Amy and Richards wedding day was an Romantic affair which they celebrated with their family and friends at the elegant Chateau la Durantie, Dordogne.  The ceremony was held within the grounds of the chateau with stunning views across the Dordogne countryside and the Wedding dinner and party were held in the Chateau's Marquee.

Amy's choice of bridal bouquet was a classic mix of soft pink , peach and cream Roses simply hand tied and finished with satin ribbon. Her Bridesmaids each carried a bundle of Gypsophila which were tied with claret ribbon.

The aisle was decorated with Gypsophila kissing balls and the theme was carried through to the table candelabras which were dressed with a pretty cloud of Gypsophila.

Thank you Amy and Richard for allowing me to be part of your special day

Courtney & Lisa's - French Chateau Wedding

Date : 4th July 2013     Venue: Chateau la Durantie      Photographer: Erika Gerdemark

Lisa and Courtney from Australia celebrated their wedding day in style with their family and Friends at Chateau la Durantie in the Dordogne, France. The ceremony was held in the beautiful St Thomas Church in the nearby town of Excideuil  and the elegantly dressed Wedding dinner was held in a Marquee in the grounds of Chateau La Durantie.

From the moment I received the first email from Lisa I knew that her wedding flowers were going to be special.  She had a very clear idea about the style and design she wanted ......White, Classic and Elegant .

Lisa chose a large beautifully fragrant bundle of Peonies for her Bridal bouquet. The church was simply decorated with pomanders of pure white Hydrangea, and the tables for the wedding dinner were set in a large u-shape and were packed with elegant glassware filled with white Hydrangea, Lissianthus, Roses and Peonies. The "cake" of choice was a traditional french croque en bouche which was decorated with more Hydrangeas , Lissianthus and Roses. As an extra special touch, outside the marquee were the Bride and Grooms initials made from Hydrangea flowers.

A big thank you to Lisa and Courtney for allowing me to be part of your special day

Welcome To my Blog

Hello and welcome to my French Flower Style Blog 2014

Well 2013 was a really great year for French Flower Style. Last year I was so lucky to be involved with many beautiful weddings and had the pleasure of meeting some truly lovely people and 2014 is shaping up to be a a good one too!

The start of the year is always a busy one for a wedding florist. Most of the preparation for weddings during the summer happens in January and February, so I have been spending a lot of time at the computer emailing future Brides and looking at lots of their ideas.

Pinterest is my new favourite wedding planning tool, as it makes it so easy for brides to share their dream wedding visions with me. It seems the  "Boho" look is a very popular style this year. Loose, natural and BIG bridal bouquets coupled with blousy floral crowns....beautiful!  I can't wait to get my hands on some flowers and start creating again .....roll on Summer!
